David served as the Vice Chancellor of the University of St Mark & St John, Plymouth for six years, and is currently Chair of the Board of Directors of the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance in London. He has significant experience of senior leadership roles in HE, as well as major project and consultancy experience globally.

More recently he has specialised in developing HE and FE institutions in terms of their strategic futures and their macro level quality assurance procedures. He is currently leading a multi-million-pound project to developing HE provision in Central Asia.

Dr Naila Anwar is a Senior Fellow of Advance HE and a Chartered Manager accredited by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI), bringing over a decade of experience in academic leadership within the UK Higher Education (HE) sector. Dr Anwar joined the University of Huddersfield Law School in September 2020 and is currently acting as the Head of Law.

Her educational philosophy is underpinned by a commitment to equity, access, and innovation in learning. A strong advocate for technology-enhanced learning, Dr Anwar has a particular interest in the transformative potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in higher education. Dr Anwar’s current research focuses on the development of inclusive pedagogical frameworks that utilise educational technologies to create flexible, student-centred learning environments. Her work aims to support students from a wide range of social, cultural, and educational backgrounds to realise their academic potential and succeed in higher education.

The Venerable Bill Braviner, Archdeacon of Halifax and Warden of Readers in the Diocese of Leeds: working to support the churches and communities of Kirklees and Calderdale in their mission and ministry, and supervising Licensed Lay Ministry across the whole of the Diocese of Leeds. Experience as a MAT Board member and Chair of Governors for many schools throughout the past 30 years of parish ministry. Before ordination I qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Price Waterhouse (now PwC).

Canon Angela Dick has served in the Diocese of Leeds (and the historical Diocese of Wakefield) since 1996. She was Vicar of the United Benefice of St. John, Bradshaw and St Andrew, Holmfield and then Christ Church, Sowerby Bridge from where she retired from full time ministry.  She has continued to serve in various ways in the Diocese since retirement.  She has served in governance in at least three Calderdale Schools for some considerable years, taking on the role of Chair in her parish Church of England Junior School until retirement.  She has been involved with Trinity Academy since its inception, for several years as a governor and feels privileged to presently serve on the Members Board.  Angela says, “At the heart of serving in this way is a commitment to ensuring that the children and young people in our care get the best education they can and to know that they are valued.”

Martin is a qualified accountant (FCA) and was a partner in PricewaterhouseCoopers in London, Hong Kong and Malawi and then with a change of career was ordained priest in the Church of England in 2001 aged 50. After serving in the Tring team in Hertfordshire, he moved to Yorkshire where he was licensed to three parishes in Mytholmroyd, Cragg Vale and Luddenden.

He was appointed as Area Dean for the Calder Valley deanery in 2017. He also served as Chair of the Board of Finance in the Wakefield diocese and was involved in creating the governance structure and financial arrangements with the merger of the Dioceses of Ripon & Leeds, Bradford and Wakefield. He has recently retired from being a Trustee and Treasurer of the Anglican Centre in Rome, a charity in Rome furthering dialogue between the Anglican and Roman Catholic churches. Before becoming a Member of Trinity MAT in 2017, he served on the MAT’s Audit Committee from its creation in 2014.

He is current Chair of the Board of Directors of AD Education Ltd, a major provider of specialist music education in the UK. He has significant experience of senior leadership roles in HE, as well as major project and consultancy experience globally. More recently he has specialised in developing HE and FE institutions in terms of their strategic futures and their macro level quality assurance procedures.

Elaine has worked in the accountancy profession for 40 years and is a partner in a respected accountancy firm. She is a FCCA and an ACA. Elaine has experience in both audit and general accountancy practice. Elaine has served on the trust’s Audit Committee as an independent member bringing her wealth of experience to the group and she will now share this further with the Board of Directors.

Tracey is an exceptionally energetic, versatile and passionate commercial sales professional with extensive experience in FMCG Retail Grocery Market, Food Service and Food Manufacturing sectors. She has a proven track record in leading, developing and inspiring a team of people across a number of functions to help them achieve their potential and exceed their expectations in tough customer-facing environments. Tracey has held previous senior and director positions within the food industry, before recently venturing out to run her own business. Currently, and in previous roles, Tracey’s strengths have been in creating and delivering strategy and business plans in alignment with customers’ strategic goals and business objectives.

Andrew is an established Senior Business Adviser and accredited Executive Coach. Previously, he was a Senior Partner in PA Consulting, an international firm of business advisers and consultants, and was responsible for its UK regional public sector business. He is a qualified accountant (CPFA) and was elected a Fellow in 2016. Andrew has significant experience of running major projects and advising boards on their strategic plans and programme delivery. More recently, he has advised on business start-ups and provided transformational coaching to improve individuals’ performance.

Adrian has been a senior leader since 2005, becoming a Headteacher in 2012, then CEO of Carlton Academy Trust in 2019. During his time as Headteacher, he led three schools out of Special Measures to at least ‘Good’ ratings. Of these, his most notable work has been at Carlton Bolling, where he took the school from Special Measures to Outstanding in less than two years, World Class School Status in 2018 and BBC/Pearson ‘Secondary School of the Year’ in 2019. He has also taken on several Executive Headteacher commissions, including leading University Academy Keighley (now Carlton Keighley) to its first-ever ‘Good’ Ofsted rating. Adrian is currently the CEO of Carlton Academy Trust, a successful mid-sized multi-academy trust of nine schools across the primary, secondary and special sectors.

Tom is a recognised expert in communications and policy development and is the Managing Director of Bradshaw Advisory. Previously he was the Global Head of Corporate Affairs at the £2bn consultancy and construction company, Mace Group, and worked for a NYSE listed engineering company, for former Secretary of State for Health, Rt Hon Baroness Virginia Bottomley, and the Rt Hon Michael Gove MP when he was Secretary of State for Education. He has a degree and masters in Theoretical Physics from University College London and sits as a Magistrate in Greater Manchester.

Helen is a qualified accountant (FCA) and former senior civil servant in the Department of Health, where she focused on information strategy for NHS clinical projects, achieving value-for-money results.

More recently working in the third sector, she is a Charity Trustee on the PCC of Christ Church, Sowerby Bridge, and has a wealth of skills to support local community groups in obtaining grant funding to deliver services in health & wellbeing, education and environment. She has many years’ experience as a primary school Governor and is an active volunteer for the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust.

Louise has worked in education for over 20 years as both a teacher and leader in mainstream and specialist provision. She is currently the Executive Principal of the East SILC in Leeds, leading a team of 300 staff to deliver high-quality education to children and young people with complex SEND. Louise is an established strategic leader, working in partnership with local authorities, commissioners and MATs to develop and improve provision and outcomes for children and young people, particularly those with SEND. She has undertaken school improvement support in several settings, including coaching and supervision for leaders, has been a secondary school Governor for 9 years and is a Director of Trinity Multi-Academy Trust.

Jeff’s career in recruitment spans over 27 years, commencing in central London then expanding across the wider UK, working for the world’s largest specialist recruiter, a FTSE 250 company.

He is passionate about ensuring that the future world of work is one that is fully engaged so that younger learners are given the very best chance to gain a foothold onto the career ladder, and position themselves in a place to make the very most of their working lives. Having recently relocated to Yorkshire from the North West, Jeff was previously a Governor at Preston’s College and also undertook an enterprise role with two schools in East Lancashire.

He is an MD within the Hays Recruitment group, a UK&I Board Member of Hays, a member of the Regional Council of the Yorkshire & Humber CBI and a Director of the Hays Pension Scheme. Married with two girls (one having just entered the world of work, the other approaching college age) he co-locates between Leeds and Southport.
