Trinity Earthshot

Understanding our world. Shaping its future.

Turning ideas into action to shape a more sustainable future.

Trinity MAT Earthshot was launched by our pupils to over 700 staff members in February 2022. The inspiration for this initiative came from President John F. Kennedy’s famous Moonshot speech and the Earthshot Prize Giving event, founded by HRH Prince William.

Earthshot gives young people opportunities to engage with the world beyond school and consider the role they can play in shaping its future.

Empowering youth leadership through the Eco-Committee Competition

The Earthshot Eco-Committee Competition reflects Trinity’s commitment to environmental stewardship and student-led change. Uniting Eco-Committees across all 11 academies, the competition challenges primary, secondary, and post-16 pupils to present innovative environmental projects to create a more sustainable and environmentally friendly world.

To turn these student-led projects into reality, White Rose Education generously provided £30,000 in total project funding for the winning academies. After presenting to a panel of judges, the winners were revealed at our Earthshot Conference – an evening enriched by guest speaker Tom ‘The Blowfish’ Hird, student marine workshops, and powerful performances by our CAPA Junior students.

Congratulations to our winning academies and their pioneering eco-projects:

Trinity Academy St Peter’s

Trinity Academy St Peter’s won first prize and £15,000. They plan to build their own Eden Project filled with different biomes, wildlife and plants. Alongside this, they want to invite local nursery children to join in and share their gardens.
