Awarded Gold Fairer School Admissions for three years running
Admissions policies can play an important role in creating fairer opportunities for children and young people.
At Trinity, we believe a child’s background or circumstances should not be a barrier to attending one of our schools. That is why we have continued to review and strengthen our admissions arrangements, helping to ensure they are fair, inclusive and support greater social mobility across the communities we serve.
Fair admissions are about more than the process of securing a school place. They can help ensure that children from disadvantaged backgrounds have the same opportunities as their peers to benefit from strong schools, high-quality education and the wider experiences that can shape their future.
For us, this work forms part of a broader commitment to improving life chances. Alongside the work taking place every day within our academies, we want the systems around education to support that ambition too.
Milestone for fairer admissions
This year, Trinity Multi-Academy Trust has once again been awarded the Sutton Trust Fair School Admissions Award at Gold level for 2026/27.
It is the third consecutive year that Trinity has achieved the highest level of the award, making us the only multi-academy trust in the country to have achieved Gold for three years running.
The award recognises the steps schools and trusts take to remove unnecessary barriers within their admissions arrangements and ensure policies support children from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Achieving Gold for a third year reflects the sustained work taking place across Trinity to keep admissions under review and ensure our approach continues to support fairness, opportunity and social mobility.
You can learn more about this work in the Sutton Trust Trinity Multi-Academy Trust blog post.
