Little blossoms officially opens at Trinity Academy Whitehill: giving two-year-olds the best start

Trinity Academy Whitehill has officially opened Little Blossoms, a brand-new early years nursery space created specifically for two-year-olds. The ribbon was cut by Halifax MP Kate Dearden and marks a major milestone for early years learning and development in our local community.

Made possible through government funding under the national school-based nursery expansion programme, Little Blossoms gives local children a gentle, enriching entry into education.

A nurturing space built for curiosity

Children learn best through play.

Little Blossoms provides a warm, safe environment designed to spark curiosity, build self-confidence, and foster early social skills. Alongside our newly refurbished Nursery and Reception areas, the setting features:

  • Thoughtfully designed indoor spaces filled with natural wooden toys and resources.
  • Interactive learning areas that encourage creativity and hands-on discovery.
  • Outdoor learning environments where children can explore, move, and connect with nature every day.

By focusing on physical, emotional, and social development early on, we help children build strong foundations long before they start primary school.

“Research consistently shows that children benefit enormously from accessing high-quality early years education, and we are proud to be able to offer that opportunity from the age of two. Our aim is to give every child the strongest possible start, helping them develop socially, emotionally and through their early learning experiences before they begin school.” — Chris Kimberley, Principal of Trinity Academy Whitehill

Free funded childcare with no hidden fees

Every family deserves simple, accessible childcare options.

If you qualify for funded childcare, you can use your full entitlement at Little Blossoms. We do not charge extra fees, top-ups, or hidden costs; your funded hours are 100% free.

Unlike traditional nursery intakes, you don’t have to wait until September. Children can start at Little Blossoms at any point during the school year as soon as they turn two, making the transition easier for working parents and carers looking for a 2-year-old nursery in Halifax.

Come and see Little Blossoms for yourself
