Trinity Academy St Edward’s receives top SIAMS outcome

Trinity Academy St Edward’s has achieved a J1 judgement following its latest Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools (SIAMS) – the highest outcome awarded under the inspection framework.

The report recognises the strength of the academy’s Christian vision, highlighting how it shapes the daily experiences of children, teachers, and families across the school community.

Driving ambition through values

SIAMS inspections evaluate how effectively a school’s Christian vision creates an environment where both pupils and adults can flourish. In their findings, inspectors noted:

“The Christian vision powerfully drives the actions of members of the school community.”

Rather than existing as a statement on paper, this vision directly informs classroom learning and broader school life. Inspectors described the curriculum at St Edward’s as “highly ambitious,” noting that academic expectations and wider learning opportunities are designed to help every young person reach their potential.

In Religious Education specifically, the report highlighted “consistent, quality teaching” alongside precise assessment that allows pupils to thrive in their learning.

Strength in collaboration

The inspection also noted how Trinity Academy St Edward’s distinct identity aligns with the wider trust. Inspectors recorded that:

“The core values of Trinity MAT and the Christian values of TASE harmonise effectively.”

This shared direction gives teachers and leaders access to collective expertise, resources, and support. As a result, high standards are maintained across every Trinity Academy classroom.

A place to belong

Beyond academic standards, the report captured the everyday culture felt by all who walk through St Edward’s doors each morning. Inspectors identified a clear “sense of togetherness and belonging,” with parents and pupils acknowledging that this environment stems directly from the school’s core values.
When children feel secure, supported, and valued, they attend, engage, and achieve. This outcome provides welcome external validation of the culture built by our staff, pupils, and families working together.

“At TASE and within Trinity MAT, staff and pupil wellbeing is a priority. Pupils know where they can seek support for themselves or others and are confident to do so.”

Looking ahead

While we are proud of Trinity Academy St Edward’s SIAMS recognition, a positive report is never the finish line. It is a baseline to build upon.

We will continue to refine our curriculum, expand wider opportunities, and ensure that Trinity Academy St Edward’s remains a place where every child receives the education, care, and encouragement they deserve.
