Bringing economics to life: Bank of England visits Trinity Sixth Form Academy
Few sixth-form students get to challenge the decision-makers shaping the UK economy. Our young people just did.
Trinity Sixth Form Academy recently hosted Bank of England Governor Andrew Bailey and Deputy Governor Clare Lombardelli for a day of discussion, debate, and discovery.
The Bank of England visit kicked off with an energetic Trinity Talks session and a lively Q&A. Students from multiple subject areas took the floor. They asked sharp, direct questions about national financial policy.

Afterwards, our A-level Economics students stepped into an exclusive round-table discussion. They sat down directly with the Governors, and together they explored the inner workings of monetary policy and inflation management. They also examined the core responsibilities of the Bank of England.
Textbooks can only take learning so far. By bringing top policy leaders directly into our sixth-form academy, students gained a first-hand look at how high-level economic decisions are made. Our students now see clear, tangible pathways into future careers in finance and public policy.
This Bank of England visit to Trinity Sixth Form Academy reflects the standard we set every day. We create direct access to industry leaders because raising aspirations requires real experiences, not just classroom theory.

We are proud of the doors opened for our students this week, and we will continue building partnerships that challenge, inspire, and prepare our young people for success.
