Awarded Trust of the Year at the nEdEx Awards 2026: celebrating inclusion and collective impact
Trinity ended the year with two major milestones at the nEdEx Awards 2026 (Network for Education Excellence School & Trust Leadership Awards): being named Trust of the Year, alongside a national shortlist spot for Trinity Academy Carlton Mill in the SEND Excellence Award category.
Strengthening our family of schools
A strong trust doesn’t operate from the top down. It works because teachers, support staff, and leaders pool their knowledge and share what works. When one academy creates a better way to support children, that insight strengthens our entire family of schools.
“An exemplary demonstration of what strategic Trust leadership can achieve when culture, systems, and outcomes align. The panel noted outstanding achievements, including a 94.8% attendance rate, 100% Good or Outstanding ratings across all 11 schools (including remarkable turnarounds), and flagship status for inclusion. Further praised for a scalable operating model and excellent staff development, with over 90% of senior leaders promoted internally.” – nEdEx Awards Judges’

Designing education around individual needs
The SEND Excellence nomination for Trinity Academy Carlton Mill puts a spotlight on practice that puts young people first. Inclusion isn’t just about offering a desk in a classroom. It means reshaping support so every child has a genuine opportunity to belong, engage, and achieve.
Our Alternative Provision offers tailored, individual support for students with additional needs. We deliver the stability and tools every young person deserves for their continued development and greater opportunity. Local MP Kate Dearden recently praised this child-centred approach. She highlighted Trinity’s lasting, positive impact on young people across Halifax.

While Carlton Mill demonstrates the power of targeted, individual support, winning Trust of the Year reflects the shared commitment across all our academies and central teams.
Winning Trust of the Year at the nEdEx Awards 2026 is a moment of pride for all our colleagues working within the Trust. But awards aren’t the focus; they’re just proof that our approach is working. We will keep refining our practice, opening up new opportunities, and pushing for better outcomes across all areas of education we can influence.
